This association for tourism in the Brunswick region links recreational areas throughout the region. These areas include the Suedheide (heath near Gifhorn) with the Elm-Lappwald (a national park near Helmstedt), the Wolfenbuettel area as well as the north foothills of the Harz mountains (near Halberstadt), Brunswick (home to the medieval House of Welf) Wolfsburg (AUTOSTADT) and Salzgitter (expansive complex of towns). Gifhorn (windmills galore) rounds off the regional attractions nicely.

Harzer Verkehrsverband

The Harzer Verkehrsverband - HVV - is an organisation responsible for marketing the entire Harz area. The HVV carries out a variety of advertising campaigns to promote this region’s special attractions. In addition to supporting and co-ordinating the various activities of its members, it is actively involved in lobbying for the interests of the group.
The Harz Mountains area is a holiday region which offers its visitors a wide variety of leisure activities (on just a small space). Tourists are invited to a stroll through colourful half-timbered towns, cultural treasures including three UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Sites. The original breathtaking beauty of nature encourages the visitor to spend an active holiday. The Harz offers virtually every kind of (sporting) activity such as hiking, mountain-biking and rock-climbing.
The Harz Mountains have got something to offer for everyone and the HVV helps you to choose (from the range of activities).

Fremdenverkehrsverband Lueneburger Heide

The Lueneburg heath is situated between the rivers Aller, Elbe and Weser and borders on four cities, namely Bremen, Brunswick, Hamburg and Hanover.
The heath covers 10,000 sq km in which four areas are protected: Lueneburger Heide (national conservation area – 230 sq km), Suedheide (national park – 500 sq km), Elbufer-Drawehn (banks of the River Elbe – 750 sq km) and the Elbtalaue (biosphere reserve).
Historic towns include Celle, Gifhorn, Lueneburg, Uelzen and Verden.
